“I am trying to figure out…how to travel.”

img_5571

Thirty of my former high-school students — who are now making their ways out in the world — volunteered to participate in ink + sky’s first Postcard Project. I am grateful for their honesty, their candor, and their willingness to take a risk.

By disclosing what they are trying to figure out, these young men and women are revealing a part of their inner selves. This courageous decision requires the willingness to be vulnerable, which is one of the most powerful acts that a person can demonstrate.

Your thoughtful comments are welcomed below. The author of this postcard will value your affirmations and kindness. Thank you.

  1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Being someone who loves travel and airplanes I entirely understand your predicament. TripAdvisor is fantastic for finding good places to sleep and eat and ranges almost everywhere across the globe. Google Flights is an excellent tool that I use that lets you compare multiple airlines simultaneously for the same route. Hotels are usually cheaper on third party sites such as Orbitz or Travelocity. And be sure to do lots of research on where the locals like to hang out, as they are often times better than the touristy places! Travel logs and blogs are also a good place to look. I wish you best of luck in your many journeys and may the wind take you someplace that continues to inspire you! Never let your passion for travel die, it is something worth embracing for your entire life. You never know where you may end up, who you will meet, and how it may change the course of your life.
